Older homes and properties offer great character, but they come with a substantial risk of asbestos in their roofs and ceilings. Thankfully, this is not the problem it may have once presented. If you are based in London or Surrey, you should not hesitate to get in touch with Advance Asbestos Removal. Our experienced and professional team, who are all accredited by all relevant governing bodies, will pinpoint the problem and deal with it. This could mean investigating an Artex ceiling, looking into floor tilings, or surveying a garage roof. Any of these locations could contain asbestos, which our team can remove with minimal fuss and disruption to your routine.

Artex ceilings are a common feature in properties built between the 1970s and 1990s. Artex is distinctive thanks to the swirly and stippled designs found on the exterior, and the fact that the interior formerly used asbestis as a thickening agent until the practice became forbidden by law in the mid-1980s. There is no way of knowing if this is the case without a survey, which Advance Asbestos Removal can conduct for you. It’s more than likely that any ceiling constructed before 1990 will contain asbestos, so please don’t delay to get in touch if you have any reason to suspect that this is the case.

It’s not just interiors that could contain asbestos, either. A garage roof or ceiling may have been packed with the substance due to its insulating qualities, as well as the fact that it repels fire. Asbestos is also sturdy and durable, but so is GRP Fibreglass. That’s why Advance Asbestos Removal will replacing your garage roof with this material if a survey finds asbestos in the ceiling that cannot be safely removed.

The tiles below or feet also potentially contain asbestos. Whether used as an underlay beneath a carpet or coating vinyl sheets, asbestos was frequently prevalent in floor tiles of older properties. It can be difficult to tell the difference between this and a modern equivalent, so again, don’t hesitate to ask Advance Asbestos Removal for a survey and assessment. There will be no obligation to proceed once our team completes their work, but we are confident that you will be confident in doing so.

If you’re wondering why you need to worry about asbestos in the first place, the answer is quite simple. The fibres found within, whether in powder or dust form, can be hugely hazardous to your health should they be breathed in. This means that attempting to check for asbestos yourself, by drilling holes in your floor or ceiling, could cause you all kinds of problems.

Setting asbestos loose without the appropriate protection and disposal techniques will just harm you. Thankfully, the team at Advance Asbestos Removal will use every element of their training to offer the appropriate advice. By bringing our experts into your property, you can sleep easy at night knowing that you will be covered against the threat of asbestos.
